NFI's Summer Short Film Contest

CALLING ALL CREATORS!
Enter your short film for a chance to win $500 for you and $500 for your school!

You pick the genre, NFI film faculty pick the winner.
Winners will receive $500 and an additional $500 for their high school or college to use however you see fit!

  • Entrants must be high school or college students.
  • Deadline for entries August 31, 2021
  • Films must have a total running time of 3 MINUTES OR LESS.
  • The film must in some way mention, address, symbolize, etc. the coronavirus and/or the way it has had an impact on life.
  • Please include a slate at the beginning stating your name, contact information, and school.
  • Any film containing copyrighted material (music, images, etc) will be disqualified.
  • Entrants must submit an online link to their film that does not require download using the submission form on this page.
  • Limit one (1) entry per entrant.
  • Any films submitted and screened by NFI, grants NFI the right to use clips, stills, or the full short for promotional purposes on our website, social media, or print.
  • All genres are welcome, however, any film featuring inappropriate material either sexual, exploitative, racist, exclusionary, abusive (animal or human), gratuitous violence not serving to the plot, or featuring minors will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.
