Childhood and Early Life

Night Shyamalan, whose full name is Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan, was born in Mahé, Puducherry, India, on August 6, 1970. India. He was raised in the town of Penn Valley, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Shyamalan’s parents, Nelliate C. Shyamalan and Jayalakshmi were of Indian descent. His father worked in the medical field as a physician, and his mother was an obstetrician.

Shyamalan attended the private Waldron Mercy Academy and then went to the Episcopal Academy, a private preparatory school. His early exposure to filmmaking came when he was given a Super 8 camera at a young age. This ignited his passion for storytelling through film. By the time he graduated from high school, he had created 45 home movies (from which he later selected clips to include as extras on the DVDs of his theatrically released movies).

He later attended Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he honed his filmmaking skills and created several student films. Shyamalan’s determination and talent eventually led him to a successful career in the film industry, where he became known for his unique storytelling style and knack for suspenseful, supernatural, and thought-provoking films. He graduated in 1992 from the New York University (NYU) film program, where he adopted the moniker “M. Night Shyamalan.”

While still a student at NYU, Shyamalan produced his first full-length movie, Praying with Anger (1992). It featured Shyamalan as an Indian-born American who visited the continent once again to examine the cultural contrasts between India and the US. The American Picture Institute named the production the year’s best debut picture in 1993. Wide Awake (1998), Shyamalan’s second studio film, focused on a young boy’s spiritual development following the death of his grandfather. Despite having a cast with several recognizable stars, the movie only had a restricted distribution, which hurt its box office performance. Shyamalan also worked on other screenplays, including that for an adaptation of American writer E.B. White’s classic children’s book Stuart Little (1999).

Biography of M Night Shyamalan | History | Lifestyle | Documentary

Career

Night Shyamalan’s career in filmmaking is marked by a distinctive and often suspenseful storytelling style. After his early education in film at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Shyamalan made his feature directorial debut with “Praying with Anger” in 1992. However, his breakthrough film, “The Sixth Sense” (1999), catapulted him to international fame. This supernatural thriller became a box office sensation and garnered several Academy Award nominations. Shyamalan’s subsequent works, including “Unbreakable” (2000), “Signs” (2002), and “Split” (2016), continued to explore themes of the supernatural, often with unexpected twists and thought-provoking narratives. His professional journey has been characterized by critical praise and commercial triumph, firmly establishing his identity as a filmmaker with a distinctive and captivating cinematic style.

Shyamalan’s breakthrough movie, The Sixth Sense, about a youngster who tells his psychologist that he can communicate with the dead, was the first of many works he produced to feature a twist ending. In 1997, he and his agency made a pitch to Hollywood studios for the screenplay they had written in 1995. The movie starred Toni Collette, Bruce Willis, and Haley Joel Osment from Australia and became the sleeper smash of the summer of 1999. Over $670 million in worldwide sales allowed it to recoup its $40 million production cost. The film garnered six Academy Award nominations, notably in categories like Best Original Screenplay and Best Director.

Other popular films followed, such as Unbreakable (2000), a superhero tale about a train wreck survivor (Bruce Willis) who discovers he has superhuman abilities after escaping unharmed; Signs (2002), a science-fiction thriller about a preacher (Mel Gibson) who, after losing his faith, must deal with an alien invasion; and The Village (2004), a gothic story about a small town that defends itself against unknown forces in the surrounding woods. The critics largely condemned Shyamalan’s future productions, including Lady in the Water (2006), The Happening (2008), The Last Airbender (2010), and After Earth (2013). But in The Visit (2015) and Split (2016), a sequel to Unbreakable, he restored his standing for strong narrative and intriguing character development.

The second Unbreakable sequel, Glass (2019) and Old (2021) are among Shyamalan’s latter works. In Knock at the Cabin (2023), a family on vacation is informed that one must be sacrificed to stop the end of the world. Shyamalan also directed four episodes of the Servant television series and worked as executive producer. Shyamalan’s films are renowned for their distinctive visual style, which includes a blend of first- and third-person viewpoints, reflections, gateways, and other portals to frame views, and the thoughtful application of red to highlight significant individuals, objects, and settings. His films frequently feature quiet, introspective main characters, which aids in establishing the tone and serves as a foundation upon which suspense can be developed. In various films, Shyamalan has appeared in cameo roles.

G.V. Prakash first appeared as a vocalist for director S. Shankar’s Tamil film Gentleman (1993), composed by his maternal uncle A.R. Rahman. The song Chikku Bukku Raile was an instant hit from the movie he sang as a kid. Further, his second and third songs from Uzhavan at a young age established his presence as a singer. G.V. Prakash has also contributed to Rahman’s other projects and has worked with Harris Jayaraj, singing two songs in Anniyan (2005) and Unnale Unnale (2007).

Prakash sang the peppy song “Kadhal Yaanai” along with Nakul, in Anniyan. He worked as a Keyboard Programmer for Jayaraj. That’s when Director Shankar saw G.V. Prakash, and gave him the opportunity to sing. Though Prakash has sung many songs as a kid, “Kadhal Yaanai” was his first song as a grown-up.

G.V. Prakash made his debut as a film composer in Vasanthabalan’s critically praised Tamil film Veyil (2006), produced by S. Shankar. His song “Pookal Pookum Tharunam” from the film Madrasapattinam (2010), directed by A. L. Vijay was very well received.

Prakash went on to receive critical acclaim for his music in Selvaraghavan’s fantasy action-adventure movie Aayirathil Oruvan (2010) and the dramatic movie Mayakkam Enna (2011), his third collaboration with Dhanush. Selvaraghavan and Dhanush co-wrote the album’s five songs, and the two also collaborated on the song “Kadhal En Kadhal.” The CD also includes the song “Pirai Thedum,” which Prakash sang with his fiancée, Saindhavi, and another song, “Voda Voda,” which Dhanush wrote and sang in just 5 minutes and recorded in under an hour.

“Prakash worked very hard to go out of his comfort zone and create the kind of edgy numbers Selvaraghavan expects and has risen to the challenge,” according to Rediff’s soundtrack review. Behindwoods critics said Prakash “reiterates his talent once again” and that the album is “intoxicating enough.” In late September 2011, R. S. Infotainment’s Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012) released a single track, “Oru Murai,” penned by Thamarai and composed and sung by Prakash. His future films include the political satire Saguni (2012) and the Hindi crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur background score.

G.V. Prakash – Acting Career

Director A.R. Murugadoss approached Prakash in 2012 about a possible acting role. He agreed to star in the project, but it never got off the ground. Prakash then signed on to star in three films in short succession, with all three going into production simultaneously. He took acting classes from the actor Aadukalam Naren to improve his skills. He has stated that his stage appearances as a singer were also beneficial in displaying his acting aptitude.

Prakash was set to make his acting debut opposite Sri Divya in the film Pencil, in which he would portray a school student.  Pencil‘s release was postponed, thus his first film was the horror flick Darling. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Prema Katha Chitram, which was released in 2013. Following that, Trisha Illana Nayanthara (2015) was released. The film explores the modern understanding of love as well as the perspectives of today’s young people of both genders on love, relationships, virginity, and other topics.

Although born in Los Angeles, Ashley Judd is passionately linked to the state where she grew up. It means to her: “New York has tough goals. They’re from Georgia, sweet girls. But we Kentucky girls are born with fire and ice in our veins. We can ride horses, toss left hooks, and drink with the boys while making sweet tea, darlin’. And if we have a viewpoint, you can bet you’ll hear it.”

Ashley Judd grew up in poverty.

Ashley’s mother Naomi and sister Wynonna were enormous successes in the 1980s as the country music duo The Judds, with 14 chart-topping hits. On the other hand, Naomi Judd was a jobless single mother when Ashley was born in 1968. “When we were kids, we were so poor that our inheritance was all we had,” Ashley recalled. “‘Kids, add extra water to the soup,’ Mama would advise. ‘Better days are on the way.'”

Judd’s in fantastic shape.

Judd practiced kickboxing for her part in 1997’s “Kiss the Girls” and continued to do so after the film’s release. In addition, she has recently picked up Zumba (a fitness program that mixes predominantly Latin dance techniques with calisthenics) and AcroYoga as she approaches 50.

Judd was hesitant to do naked scenes until she met Mira Sorvino.

Judd and Mira Sorvino portrayed two aspects of Marilyn Monroe in HBO’s “Norma Jean & Marilyn” in 1996. According to Judd, “I told my co-star, Mira Sorvino, how frightened I was since I didn’t know how my mother would respond. ‘Can I be frank with you?’ she asked. I’ve seen your mother in interviews, and she appears to be fairly messed up. I don’t think there will be much you could do to surprise a woman like her.’

Ashley Judd made a choice not to have children.

Judd, who was wedded to three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Dario Franchitti from 2001 until 2013, decided not to have children when she was around 18 years old. “It’s unethical to breed with the number of children dying of starvation in impoverished nations,” she says.

Ashley Judd wasn’t the number one choice for “Double Jeopardy.”

Two thrillers featuring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, “Kiss the Girls” in 1997 and “High Crimes” in 2002, performed well at the box office. Despite this, Judd was the fourth choice for 1999’s “Double Jeopardy.” Brooke Shields and Meg Ryan declined the lead part, which Jodie Foster eventually filled. However, Jodie became pregnant, so Ashley was called in.

Judd and Wynonna Have a Difficult Relationship

Wynonna did not invite Ashley to her wedding in 2012. Wynonna was later accused of installing a tracking device in Ashley’s automobile to spy on her. When Ashley faced condemnation for her emotional speech at the 2017 Women’s March, Wynonna said, “I love my sister, I am for my sister, and I will always be there.” Watch the two of them onstage as Wynonna performs “Come to Some Rainy Day,” She tells the audience, “I don’t care how rich and popular she gets; she’ll always be my little sister.”

Judd is a horse’s Godmother.

Judd fell madly in love with a baby Lipizzaner—a species associated with classical dressage—while vacationing near the Austrian Alps in 2011 and suddenly agreed to be the little stallion’s godparent.

Judd is crazy about her pets

For many years, Judd, who has been in treatment for depression related to childhood sexual assault, seemed inseparable from Shrug, a dog certified as a “psychological support” animal. The diva is also alleged to have taken many animals to film sites. She refers to her pets as “the loves of my life.”

Childhood and Early Life

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976, at the Southern Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents John Draper Witherspoon and Mary Elizabeth. Her dad was a Lieutenant in the United States Army, and her mother was a nursing professor at Vanderbilt University. During her early youth, Witherspoon’s father was stationed in the territory then known as West Germany, and the family returned to Nashville, Tennessee, when she was four years old.

She attended Harpeth Academy before transferring to Harpeth Hall School. At the latter, Witherspoon was a cheerleader.

When Witherspoon was just seven years old, she was featured in a commercial for a local flower shop, and four years later, she participated in a talent show. These appearances gave her the courage to pursue a career as a full-time actor. Despite being a solid student, she dropped out of Stanford University after a year to pursue a career in acting. She had enrolled at the university to pursue English Literature.

Career

Reese Witherspoon made her cinematic debut in 1991 with ‘The Man in the Moon,’ and critics praised her performance as a rural teenager. She starred in the TV-only picture ‘Wildflower’ alongside Diane Keaton the same year and the following year in another TV movie titled Desperate Choices: To Save My Child.

In the early 1990s, Witherspoon appeared in television shows and films such as Return to Lonesome Dove and Disney projects such as A Far Away Place. Her career was upgraded in 1996 when she co-starred in the film ‘Fear’ with Mark Wahlberg. Later that year, she collaborated with Brooke Shields in the comedy thriller ‘Freeway.’ Both films were commercially successful.

Witherspoon took a break from their acting career for a spell but returned in 1998, appearing in three films that year. ‘Pleasantville,’ ‘Twilight,’ and the romantic comedy Overnight Delivery. ‘Pleasantville’ was her most successful rollout of the three. In the following year, she released Cruel Intentions and the critically praised Election. Reese Witherspoon starred in Legally Blonde in 2001. The picture proved to be the major break in her career, garnering worldwide fame and critical acclaim.

Mira Nair cast Witherspoon in the film Vanity Fair in 2004, and it was without a doubt the most challenging job the actress had done in her career up to that point. The film was a success, and critics praised Witherspoon’s portrayal of the ambitious Becky Sharp. Reese Witherspoon played Johnny Cash’s second wife, June Carter Cash, in the 2005 film Walk the Line and delivered possibly her best career performance. Critics such as Roger Ebert were effusive in their praise, and Witherspoon went on to win the most prestigious prizes for the picture, including the Academy Award for Best Actress, the BAFTA, the Screen Guilds Awards, and the Golden Globe.

Reese Witherspoon Wins Best Actress | 78th Oscars (2006)

Following her breakout turn in ‘Walk the Line,’ Witherspoon participated in films such as Penelope and Rendition, which were not well received, with many criticizing her acting as ‘lifeless.’

In 2007, Witherspoon co-starred with Vince Vaughn in the sitcom Four Christmases, a commercial success. Over the next few years, she appeared in films such as How Do You Know, This Means War, Water for Elephants, and Mud. She starred in The Good Lie in 2014. Still, her other movie that year, Wild, garnered all the attention, and her role as a woman damaged by catastrophes won her an Academy Award nod for best actress.

Personal History and Legacy

Reese Witherspoon married co-star Ryan Phillips in 1999, but they separated in 2007. The couple has two children: Ava, a daughter, and Deacon, a son. From 2005 to 2007, she was in a loving relationship with actor Jake Glynehall. Two years later, the relationship terminated.

Reese Witherspoon married Jim Toth, a Hollywood talent agent, in 2011. Tennessee James Toth is the couple’s son.

Reese Witherspoon Facts That Will Astound You

Reese Witherspoon, our favorite Southern belle, has won us over with her movie representations of multidimensional women, from the gorgeous Elle Woods to the ethically dubious Elena Richardson, throughout her three-decade career. But, as much as we love witnessing the 45-year-old actress morph on screen, we have to admit that there’s a lot we didn’t even know about Witherspoon until recently. For example, did you know she retained 60 dresses from her role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde? Or that she passed up a chance to return to Friends? If you thought it was shocking, keep reading for much more Reese Witherspoon trivia.

Before Becoming an Actor, Witherspoon Studied English Literature.

Reese Witherspoon may not have gone to Harvard Law School like her character, Elle, but the reality isn’t far from the truth. Witherspoon attended English literature at Stanford University in the 1990s before leaving in 1996 to pursue acting full-time. Over a decade later, the actress returned to her alma mater and even visited her former dorm.

Witherspoon was Subjected To A Third-Grade Suspension For Selling Custom-Barrettes.

During an interview with Vogue in 2019, Witherspoon confessed that she was accused of running her own custom-barrette company from her desk when she was in third grade. She was redecorating store-bought barrettes with paint pens and selling them for a profit, but that all stopped when one of her pens dripped on her desk.

Ironically, Witherspoon Isn’t Very Excited About Performing In Front Of A Live Audience.

Remember when Witherspoon was Rachel’s (Jennifer Aniston) younger sister in Friends? In 2019, AP Entertainment approached her to play the part again, but she declined because she was too nervous in front of live crowds. She told Aniston during the broadcast interview, “I never did it again. Did you know they asked me again? ‘No, I can’t do it,’ I answered. I was too terrified.”

Witherspoon hosted Saturday Night Live in 2015, making her the first person to do so since the 9/11 attacks. The experience was equally nerve-racking for the actress, who characterized it as “terrifying.”

Witherspoon Wanted To Star In “Gone Girl” As Amy.

It isn’t easy to envision anyone besides Rosamund Pike as Amy Dunne, but it turns out that Witherspoon (who produced the film) genuinely contemplated playing the role. On the other hand, Director David Fincher didn’t think she was a good fit. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “I was always willing to do it, but when David Fincher says he wants to do something, you simply sit back and say, ‘Whatever you want to do.’ So we had a long talk in which he said, ‘You’re not the proper person for it.’ And here’s why.’ And I indeed agreed with him entirely.”

Most Of Elle’s Outfits From “Legally Blond” Were Taken Home By Witherspoon.

She retained 60 (yes, sixty) of her character’s costumes in the legendary film to keep them from being sold off on the internet. “It truly disturbs me,” she told Hollywood.com. It freaks me out to think of some weirdo in Wisconsin sniffing the seams.”

“It’s all in the closet,” she added. But, my daughter will be able to play with it one day.” (Perhaps Reese Witherspoon’s mini-her will make an unexpected cameo in one of these songs in Legally Blonde 3.)

All About Witherspoon’s Fiction

The Academy Award-winning actress takes us into the fascinating world of Southern etiquette, parties, cooking, and tradition with an exceptional blend of writing style and aesthetics. Kidman returned to Australia with her parents when she was four years old. Before enrolling at North Sydney Girls’ High School, she studied at Lane Cove Public School. Kidman was bitten by the acting beetle at a young age, evident throughout her elementary and middle school days. She even enrolled in ballet lessons. However, she had to discontinue her studies due to an unfortunate situation where her mother had breast cancer. To support her family financially, she started working as a massage therapist.

Kidman later studied at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne and the Phillip Street Theater in Sydney. She continued her education by joining the Australian Theater for Young People.

Nicole Kidman studied acting, theater, and mime. Her innate ability for the same, combined with her beautiful looks, made her professional foray into the realm of showbiz a natural fit.

The Life Of Nicole Kidman

Personal History and Legacy

Marcus Graham, an Australian theater actor, was Nicole Kidman’s, first love. Though both of them had a real-time relationship, there was nothing formal among them to walk up to the aisle. Instead, she had an on-again, off-again affair with her Windrider co-star, Tom Burlinson, in the mid-1980s.

However, while shooting on Days of Thunder sets, Kidman fell in love with co-star Tom Cruise. They married on Christmas Night in 1990 in Telluride, Colorado. They had adopted two children together, Isabella Jane, a daughter, and Connor Anthony, a son.

After a decade of living together, the couple divorced, citing incompatible differences. After that, in 2003, Kidman dated artist Lenny Kravitz for a year. She even had a brief romance with Robbie Williams. Keith Urban, an Australian country musician, met her at G’Day LA, an event celebrating Australians, in 2005. On June 25, 2006, the two stepped up to the altar at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in the gardens of St Patrick’s Estate in Manly, Sydney.

The Starting Years

In 1983, Nicole Kidman made her cinematic debut adapting the Australian holiday period favorite ‘Bush Christmas.’ Following that, she appeared in other films, including BMX Bandits, Watch the Shadows Dance, and Windrider. Aside from cinema, Hollywood beauty has appeared in several television shows, including Five Mile Creek, A Country Practice, and the miniseries Vietnam.

The 1989 release of ‘Dead Calm’ represented a watershed event in Kidman’s career. Her performance as Rae Ingram earned rave reviews and pushed her to international fame and recognition. Since then, there has been no turning back for this terrific and talented performer who has given back-to-back blockbusters. ‘Days of Thunder’ was Kidman’s big break in Hollywood. Her début in the American film business was recognized by this film, one of the year’s top films.

The Australian charmer Nicole Kidman was experiencing well-deserved professional success. Yet, despite her pride in her accomplishment, she maintained her focus and paid close attention to her career graph, which was steadily rising. She gave outstanding performances in films such as ‘Flirting,’ ‘Billy Bathgate,’ ‘Far and Away,‘ and ‘My Life.’

Years of Fame and Success

Nicole Kidman had an incredible year in 1995. She was cast as the lead in the films ‘Batman Forever’ and ‘To Die For.’ While the former was the most successful live-action film of 2011, the latter garnered her the first Golden Globe nomination. However, while her movies were doing well at the box office and earning widespread popular and critical praise, Kidman did not abandon her love of theater and was seen in David Hare’s play, ‘The Blue Room,’ which premiered in London.

Batman Forever – Trailer

Following that, she co-starred in the film ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ with Tom Cruise. Though the picture received excellent reviews upon its initial release, it was eventually the subject of censorship concerns due to the vivid nature of the adult scenes.

Stardom Kidman’s next big-screen role was in the British-American film Birthday Girl, where she portrayed a mail-order bride. However, her flexibility was put to the test in 2001, when two of her movies, which got opposed, were released. While Moulin Rouge was a musical in which she portrayed a nightclub actress and courtesan, ‘The Others,’ a Spanish horror thriller, cast Kidman as a Catholic mom of two. Surprisingly, Kidman was excellent in both films and received great feedback.

Kidman then starred in Stephen Daldry’s film The Hours. She played a writer who suffers from depression and mental illness crises in the film. She played the part with such conviction and brilliance that she received an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and other critics’ accolades.

The Fall and the Resurrection

Kidman’s career’s increasingly prosperous tale ended in the year 2004. Her movies, ‘Birth,’ ‘The Stepford Wives,’ ‘The Interpreter,’ and ‘Bewitched’ all failed at the box office, putting Kidman’s career to a halt. In 2006, Kidman co-starred in the film ‘Fur’ with Robert Downey Jr. Though the picture did not perform well in ticket sales, the actors received favorable reviews. In addition, Kidman was a voiceover artist in the film Happy Feet, released the same year.

The following two films in which Kidman starred did not do anything to resurrect her career. Though her performances in the 2007 film The Golden Compass and the 2008 film Australia received mixed reactions, her acting was noteworthy and received great praise and accolades. Finally, the film Nine, in which Nicole Kidman has a minor role, was released in 2009. Again, despite receiving mixed reviews, the film earned her two nominations.

Aside from films, Nicole has been in numerous adverts. For example, she was the Chanel No. 5 cologne brand’s face. Kidman set the record for the most significant amount paid per minute to an artist with her three-minute performance on Chanel No. 5 at US$12 million. In addition, she was the face of the Nintendo ad campaign and an international Schweppes commercial.

Major Projects

Nicole Kidman’s filmography took a significant leap in 1995, when two of her pictures, Batman Forever and To Die For, created tremors at the box office. The films not only performed exceedingly well at the theaters (Batman Forever grossed a whopping $336.53 million, the most ever by a live-action film as of 2011), but they also received worldwide popularity and critical praise. • Age: 31
  • Occupations:  Composer, singer, instrumentalist, and music producer
  • Instruments: Vocals and keyboards
  • Genres: Film Music and Independent Music

Anirudh’s Music Career

In Aishwarya R. Dhanush’s directorial debut 3, starring Dhanush, Anirudh made his debut as a music composer. He had done background soundtracks for Aishwarya’s short films while obtaining his degree at Loyola College, and his work on short films led her to hire him for her first commercial enterprise. A version of a song leaked from the movie; “Why This Kolaveri Di” came out online in early November 2011, prompting the film team to release it on 16 November 2011 officially. The song became India’s most-watched YouTube video and a global online sensation. YouTube awarded the video a “Recently Most Popular” Gold Medal and a “Trending” Silver Medal for having a significant number of hits in a short period of a few weeks.

Why This Kolaveri Di

The album’s remaining songs were released in December 2011 and received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics. Anirudh Ravichander’s debut album featured a wide range of musical styles. In recent cinema history, such a promising beginning by a composer has never been seen.

Anirudh was also praised for his work on the film’s background score. As a result, he received a slew of awards for the film, including the Vijay Award for Best Find of the Year and nominations for the South Indian International Movie Awards and the 60th Filmfare Awards South. He also contributed to the film’s Telugu dubbing.  Soon after, Anirudh teamed up with Dhanush to produce Sachin Anthem, a Kolaveri-inspired track in honor of Sachin Tendulkar, in collaboration with the health drink Boost.

Then, David, a multi-starrer directed by Bejoy Nambiar, sang and created a single called Kanave Kanave in Tamil. The album received excellent reviews, with a writer commenting that Anirudh’s song was the album’s best. Ethir Neechal, his following album, received favorable reviews.

Vanakkam Chennai, his next soundtrack, was published in July 2013 and quickly rose to the top of iTunes India’s Top Album category. Before its release, Anirudh had stated that it was his most remarkable work to date, and the composer sang in six of the film’s seven songs.

After Harris Jayaraj opted out of composing the background score for Selvaraghavan’s fantasy film Irandam Ulagam, Anirudh was hired in September 2013. Despite being called out as a replacement and later recording for the film in Budapest, Anirudh expressed his joy at working with Selvaraghavan early in his career. Although the film received mixed reviews and was a box office flop, critics praised Anirudh’s effort.

When Anirudh’s next album, Velaiyilla Pattathari, was released in February 2014, it included veteran singer S. Janaki, Dhanush, and Anirudh and received favorable reviews. The film became a box office success, with Anirudh’s re-recording work getting critical acclaim and earning him the Filmfare award for best music director.

In addition, for the first time in his career, Anirudh collaborated on songs with renowned vocalists K. J. Yesudas and Vijay. He wrote the love kuthu song Selfie Pulla, sung by the film’s lead star Vijay and Sunidhi Chauhan, and became a chartbuster.

Anirudh worked with his close buddy Sivakarthikeyan for the third time on the film Kaaki Sattai, which Dhanush produced under his production firm. The album received largely excellent reviews and helped Anirudh continue his winning streak.

Anirudh made his acting debut in Vignesh Shivan’s Naanum Rowdydhaan in early 2013, after choosing it from twenty other screenplays he had heard. However, production work came to a halt when Anirudh stated that he would prioritize a career in music composition and agreed to work on the film’s soundtrack.

In Siva’s Vedalam, he also scored his first Ajith Kumar film. Anirudh received mixed reviews. However, the song Aaluma Doluma, which incorporates North Madras slang, became a hit. For Remo, Anirudh paired up with Sivakarthikeyan once more. He released the first single, Survival, in late 2017 for the film Vivegam, which became the fastest Tamil song to reach one million streams. This track marked Yogi B’s return to Tamil music.

Thalai Viduthalai, Anirudh’s next single, was released. Director Siva wrote the song, which Anirudh and Harish Swaminathan performed. For this tune, Anirudh used “Death Metal” for the first time in Kollywood. This song was also a tribute to Ajith Kumar, the ultimate star of Tamil cinema, who had completed 25 years in the profession.

For Velaikkaaran, he collaborated once more with Sivakarthikeyan, marking their fifth partnership. Again, he experimented with genre and gave the CD a lot of variety.

The song has a kuthu flavor, with Anirudh singing Karuthavanlaam Galeejam about color and caste. On the other hand, Iraiva is romantic melody music featuring Anirudh and Jonita Gandhi. The track alternates between two genres, beginning as a sweet melody conveying love and then abruptly transitioning into a metal genre.
